Have you ever looked at the pieces of oranges and thought what story could be there about this fruit? I’ve been thinking lately. Not only about oranges but everything else around me. But here let’s talk particularly about oranges.
This article will take you from one corner to another, as it will present two different aspects. One will take you to realize what magic is and the other will tell you about how oranges are part of a glorifying culture.
Have you heard about magic fruits? Do you believe in magic?
Many will say these are just myths, there are no such fruits. Magic is just a trick.
But I believe it’s true. As you will read this article further, I am sure you will believe the same.
Magic fruits are real. One such fruit is “Magical orange”. Imagine there is an orange in your hand, now smell it? Isn’t the fragrance magical? It just lifts up the spirit, so energetic and rejuvenating.
Oranges are magical in every way, whether we talk about peel, the fruit or seed. The peel is very much healthy for the skin. In Ayurveda, the peel is used in medicines, face packs and has many such other uses. Even the orange seeds can be used for eating purposes. The seed increases body strength. And the magical tangy, sweet and sour taste of oranges. The health benefits are uncountable. The fruit is rich in many nutrients. Eating the fruit daily can bring tremendous changes in the body, the way it looks, better mental and physical health. There are antioxidants in oranges which actually slows down the ageing process. Years will go on, but it won’t be reflected much on your skin. Orange juices are also available these days or could be made at home with love.
Children too love oranges. These are present in their lives in many ways, from favourite orange candies to orange biscuits. So, including children in getting benefits from raw oranges will be the best idea. Why not eat fresh?
I actually believe fruits are a way of connecting back to nature because they are in their very living form. Life flows through them. So, when you eat an orange, it’s not just an orange. It carries the connection to the root. Another fascinating fact about oranges is that the colour of an orange is also orange. So, now tell me aren’t oranges magical? They quench the thirst, satiate the hunger, calm the mind, soothe the skin and moreover are magical to the heart.
If still, you don’t agree, oranges are magical, let me take you some centuries ago.
We all have heard about freedom fighters. But have you heard about freedom oranges? Do you know there exists a festival named “Battle of the oranges”? Have you ever thought, fruit can be a symbol of liberation? A way of expressing rage? A way of celebrating the defeat of brutality?
There is one such event. There is a city named “Ivrea” in Northern Italy. The festival is celebrated there like a carnival of nine days. In the 12th century, there was one tyrant who tried to rape a commoner (often referred to as a miller’s daughter) on her wedding day. But to the tyrant’s surprise, the woman cut his head and killed him. After this brave step, people of the city also joined and burnt the castle.
After that, this is celebrated every year in the city as a form of liberation from such tyrants. There is a group of people who throw oranges at the cart, where the orange throwers represent the commoners and the cart represents the tyrants, the people of his legacy. Every year they have a play in which one girl plays the role of the girl who killed the tyrant and one-man plays the role of a tyrant. Some lore also suggests that the oranges symbolize the removed testicles of the tyrant. It is celebrated at the end of winter and beginning of new spring, generally in the month of February, sometimes in March.
I honestly found this festival very fascinating and magical. Oranges are not only oranges anymore. They symbolize freedom, disagreement of such acts by rulers, decline and end of such tyrants, the awakening of the public. What’s interesting here is that oranges are not grown at a wide scale in the city. They are imported specially for this purpose. Originally beans were used, then apples. Later, in the 19th century, they used oranges for this purpose. However, the reason is not clear, but that might be something big. Because oranges have to be imported for this purpose. We can only think of various reasons why it might have happened.
What’s important here is expression has no form. It could be anything. I believe it also shows the power and magic of tenderness. The story depicts oranges are not only healthy to eat, but they are healthy weapons too. I also want to relate to this festival and oranges to woman empowerment. It was a woman who in order to protect herself from a brutal tyrant killed her. There could be many more conclusions that could be brought from this festival.
Now tell me don’t you think oranges are magical? History also suggests that oranges were luxurious fruits. In my view, oranges should be celebrated. So, we at Pisum food services celebrate the magic, bravery, luxury, ecstasy and legacy of oranges. We understand the connection and its importance. Eating healthy and experiencing the magic should not be a choice, it should be a priority. We are doing orange exports in India. We aspire to export oranges to every corner of the world. We want our oranges to reach Ivrea so that they can also be a part of such great honour.
Earlier, we were proud of the sector we were working for, the food sector. But now, we have one more reason to be proud of “The Freedom Oranges”. We are proud to provide the prestigious oranges to a large group of people. And also we are pleased to invite you to be a part of this orange revolt. Eat some oranges and celebrate.
So, what do you think? Are the oranges magical? Whether the magic it does justifies your earlier biases? I believe the magic it does is for real. If the spell is read correctly that is consumed daily, the magic will be visible and will stay.
