Coorg oranges are popularly regarded as man-made hybrids of mandarins. They are greenish-yellow in colour and have tight skin. They have a sweet-sour taste.

The Dancy variety of oranges are said to be medium in size. The apex of the fruit broadly depressed. The rind of these oranges is thin, leathery, tough, loose and easily removed. The surface is smooth and glossy. It may become bumpy with age. The colour can be described as deep orange-red to scarlet till it matures.

Pronounced as Kinoo or Kinu, Kinnow Mandarin is a high yield mandarin and is known to be a hybrid of two citrus cultivators the 'King' and the 'Willow Leaf'. It's juicier than may other varieties of oranges. It is majorly grown in the states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan and Haryana.
